Use statistics from the same sample

Every input should cover the same season, month, league, or other period. Mixing 600 season at-bats with one month's stolen bases would distort the calculation. The formula assumes all entered statistics describe the same set of plate appearances and baserunning events.

RC and actual runs scored are not the same thing

Runs Created is a mathematical estimate from the events entered. It is not the player's official runs scored or RBI total. The formula credits and penalizes different offensive events to estimate run contribution. Team context, batting order, and the exact sequence of events are not separate inputs in this calculator.

Watch for edge cases

If no outs are recorded, the calculator cannot divide RC across 27 outs, so RC/27 displays N/A.
