The allowance is 3 × 2 + 1 × 2 + 4 = 12 minutes. Net playing time is therefore 115 – 12 = 103 minutes, or about 1.7167 hours. The current over rate is 25 ÷ 1.7167 = about 14.56 overs per hour.
At the Test target of 15 overs per hour, 25.75 overs are required in 1.7167 hours. The difference is 25 – 25.75 = -0.75 overs. The calculator therefore displays Behind Rate (-0.75 Overs).
If raw elapsed time is zero or the allowances reduce net playing time to zero or less, the calculator displays an error instead of a rate.
How to Use the Cricket Over Rate Calculator: Step by Step
- Select the Match Format. Choose Test Match, ODI, or T20I to load the corresponding target over rate.

Understanding the Time Breakdown
The results show four timing details. Raw Elapsed Time is the full clock time entered. Total Allowances Deducted combines wicket, DRS, and other allowances. Net Playing Time is what remains after those deductions. Required Overs for Net Time shows how many overs the selected target rate would produce during that period.
Allowance Assumptions Matter
